What is it? Avon Anew Skin Transforming Primer.
Who is it for? Best for a dry skin, it contains an anti-ageing serum but that doesn’t limit it to just mature skin.
How do you use it? Use after cleansing and moisturising. Wait a few minutes and then apply the primer from the centre of the face outwards (I personally don’t put facial primer around my eyes). A little goes a long way.
What’s the damage? £15, but at the moment it’s on offer on the Avon website for £10!
Avon Anew skin transforming primer is one of my Mum’s finds. She’s been looking for a primer that doesn’t make her face feel dry and tight and this is her new favourite. I’ve been using this for a couple of weeks and am finding it a good primer for dry skin. I like the packaging, the gold makes it look quite luxurious and it’s an easy to use pump dispenser.
The idea of a primer is to even out your skin texture, thereby making your makeup look better and last longer, or if you want a makeup free day, primer will give your skin a bit of a glow. It’s not a miracle worker and should be used in conjunction with a good skincare regime. There are lots and lots of primers out there today, a quick internet search produced results for colour-correcting, anti-ageing, blurring, Illuminating, pore-minimising and hydrating primers. Some have an SPF which is always a bonus.
I like the Avon Anew skin transforming primer as a basic primer for dry skin, it’s easy to apply and doesn’t leave any residue. It sinks in quickly, so if you’re in a hurry on a morning you can apply your foundation more or less straight away. It is marketed as containing an anti-ageing serum to promote a more youthful looking complexion, but as yet I haven’t noticed any change in that respect.
If you’re looking for a primer perfect for only dry skin problems then this is your product, but, if you want a product to colour correct as well then I suggest Estee Lauder’s Revitalising Supreme CC Cream.
