25 Mar Baija Paris Gommage Festin Royal Miel Caramélisé. A decent, delicious smelling, body scrub.
What is it? Baija Paris Gommage Festin Royal Miel Caramélisé (caramelised honey body scrub) is full of natural honey and soothing shea. “Made up of 97% natural ingredients, the scrub gently exfoliates and buffs away dryness whilst the rich texture adds moisture back into your skin so you feel smooth and supple for longer.”
Who is it for? Anyone who wants to exfoliate and hydrate in one go, either the whole body or just do your elbows, knees or where you have particularly dry skin. Suitable for sensitive skin. Good for fake tan preparation.
How do you use it? Rub evenly over your body to gently exfoliate and wash away with warm water in the bath or shower.
What’s the damage? £14.90 for 60ml.
I tend to use body exfoliants because I have to; I know they are good for the skin, but I do find them a bit of a palaver. Firstly you have to get into the shower as most of these things work better on damp skin, then you put the product on and leave for a little while so it can have maximum effect and then back under the shower to rinse off. So this tends to be something I do on a weekend when I have more time.
When you open this body scrub from Baija Paris it smells absolutely amazing, it almost seems good enough to eat. I love honey, I eat it nearly every day, just a teaspoon as a bit of sweetener, it’s so full of natural goodness. So I’m a bit of a sucker for a product containing honey!
I found the product fairly coarse and a little difficult to apply straight to damp skin. I ended up putting some in my hand and adding more water to it to make an easier to use paste. Also, you have to be careful as the jar is made of glass. The granules washed off easily and the hydrating oily residue remained. My skin did feel moisturised afterwards but I still added some body cream (Garnier Ultimate Blends Maple Healer Body Lotion – a very reasonably priced but effective product) as my skin is dryer these days.
So in conclusion it’s an OK product, it didn’t blow me away, but if I saw it on a decent offer I would get some, or if I got it in a beauty box I would be quite happy. The Ameliorate exfoliator remains my favourite.
