What is it? BLAQ Hydrogel Eye Mask contains activated charcoal to de-puff and detox the under eye area. I like hydrogel masks, they are made with 100% skin benefitting ingredients, are thicker than cotton based masks, they lock in moisture better and stick to the face more easily.
The product boasts active ingredients including: bamboo charcoal; hamamelis virginiana (witch hazel) which can be effective for relieving mild skin irritation; and glucomannan, a natural fibre that may help skin retain moisture. The eye masks are designed for one use only. Positive results should be immediately apparent when you remove the masks.
Who is it for? Anyone wanting to get rid of dark circles or puffy eyes. Obviously, if you have sensitive skin then do a patch test with a bit of the serum. Ingredients are listed below if you want to check for anything you may be allergic to.
How do you use it? Apply the eye masks gently, 1cm below each eye to cleansed skin. Leave to work for 10-15 minutes before carefully peeling them off the skin. For optimum results use twice a week.

I’ve been lucky enough to generally avoid obvious eye bags or dark circles. I’m very careful with application of creams in the eye area (I use serums around my eyes rather than an eye cream), I try to drink plenty of water and herbal tea, and also, probably most importantly, genetically my family don’t really suffer from them. However, along with the rest of the Country I’ve been struggling with this cold/flu bug since it seems like forever, I can’t remember the last time I had a full night’s sleep and I was looking like I’d done a few rounds in a boxing ring without a head guard.
I’d heard about BLAQ, an Australian skincare brand built on the basis of a core ingredient – Activated Charcoal, so decided to try the eye masks. I chose these as they are hydrogel masks, as we all know how rubbish I am with cotton based sheet masks. They were extremely easy to apply and arrange in the correct position. I didn’t feel any tingling or uncomfortable sensations at all. I removed them after 15 minutes, they were simple to remove and didn’t pull the skin.
What can I say about the results, the claim that you can see a positive difference immediately is true! Well it was for me anyway. There was a marked improvement in the dark circles and the whole area just looked brighter and healthier and this continued for a good 48 hours. If you have dark circles and/or puffy eyes then give this a go. Fabulous!!
