I wanted to write about Kiehl’s Creme de Corps to make sure that you’re not missing out. There are a few products that I can honestly say I will always use and this is one of them. This isn’t a new product, many people have sworn by Kiehl’s Creme de Corps for years, but I am a relative newcomer as it’s only in the past couple of years that I’ve started to suffer from dry skin problems (age!). I’ve developed dry patches on my legs and I tried various products which worked for a short while and then seemed to lose efficacy.
I called into my local Kiehl’s shop for advice and they recommended Creme de Corps. I was very underwhelmed at first as it comes in a flip top plastic bottle so I imagined it would be a thin lotion and I felt I needed a tub of extra thick body butter. However, when I tried the product on my hand in the shop I was pleasantly surprised at the consistency and then at how soft my skin felt for ages afterwards. The bottle however remains a bit of a problem for me, I struggle to get the product out without taking the cap off, I keep forgetting to store it upside down to make it easier to get out.
The product is absolutely amazing, I’ve been using it daily for around six months and it seems to have a cumulative effect. I no longer experience the dry tightening feeling of my skin as the day progresses (it’s especially good for dry elbows). I use it after my morning shower, you do have to give yourself a few minutes for the cream to soak in before you get dressed but it’s worth it. Creme de Corps contains those moisturising giants – Shea Butter, Avocado Oil and Squalane and has a sort of minimal smell which is very natural and doesn’t interfere with my perfume. It is fairly pricey but cost per application is very low, it lasts for ages.
Try it out for yourself, it’s always lovely to have an excuse to pop into a Kiehl’s shop anyway, the staff are usually knowledgeable and very helpful.
