PK PREP Plumping Cream – Adds Volume to Thin Hair

What is it? PK PREP Plumping Cream is a volumising and thickening cream “a hair boost in a bottle”, it is a cream and not a mousse.  The formula boasts vitamins B3, B5, B6, C and E to care for your hair health and a trio of wheat proteins to simultaneously add volume to each hair strand and condition from inside the cuticle. The cream leaves an invisible, protective layer around the hair that effectively controls frizz and promotes shine and there is no residue. It has a very light fragrance of cherry blossom.

Who is it for? PK PREP Plumping Cream is ideal for adding body to limp hair. It’s suitable for all hair types from fine to medium and coarse to African-Caribbean and also works for colour treated hair

How do you use it? Apply to towel dried hair from the mid-length to the ends, then comb through thoroughly before blow drying.

What’s the damage? £19.00 for 100ml

Obviously Philip Kingsley products are going to be at the top of the game, but I did wonder how a cream could work better than a mousse, surely it would be a heavier consistency?  However, this product does what it says and provides volume to my thin hair.  It’s easy to apply, I use it after my Beauty Protector Protect and Detangle Spray and then blow dry my hair.  I would say though that you must make sure you give your hair a cleanse to get rid of any product build up, I do this once a week otherwise my products lose effect and my hair looks thinner than ever.  At the moment I’m using Grow Gorgeous Scalp Detox Pre-Wash Treatment.

Other hair volumising products currently in my bathroom are:

Sebastian Professional Thickefy Foam – I used to love this product but I’m sure they’ve changed the formula, it just seems to weigh my hair down now.

Lee Stafford Coco Loco Coconut Mousse which I bought because I love the smell of coconut.  The smell is amazing but the mousse makes even my dry hair look greasy.

Aveda Pure Abundance Style Prep – This bottle is actually empty, so this has been a good reminder to buy some more as this is another product I like.  Again I use it after the Protect and Detangle spray to give my hair an extra barrier against the hair dryer.
